Somewhere over the Atlantic 07/04/18 Day 1

We had an uneventful trip to Atlanta.  Upon arriving at the Atlanta airport, we checked in and checked our luggage to Milan, Italy.  We then went through the "Trusted Traveler" security line that was established for American citizens.  Linda got through security OK, Harry got through OK and then I got through OK.  When Amanda came through,  her carry on bags were sidelined for further inspection (again).  This inspection found a bottle of water that was half full in her baggage.  I just want you to know,  I supported Amanda,  She said it was an honest mistake.  Evidently, she did not know that trying to smuggle water through security was against FAA rules.  Amanda is not a water smuggler.  When this situation was addressed, we continued on.
We boarded our flight for the trip across the Atlantic.  We had bulkhead seats. No seats in front of us, just a wall in front of us.  On that wall was a TV screen just a little bit bigger than the screen on my cell phone.  Not hardly worth the effort.  Weather was great, the flight was nice, and the adventure began.  Upon our arrival at the Malpensa Airport in Milan,  we took a train into Milan.  This was a lovely 30 minutes train ride through the industrial sections of Milan.  When we got to the train station, we took an Uber taxi to our hotel.  We checked into our hotel and got ready to explore Milan.  Our hotel is the Palazzo Matteotti Hotel.  I would like to mention that the hotel rates during our time of stay was $950.00 a night.  I hasten to mentioned that this is a Marriott hotel, category 8 and fortunately we had enough Marriott points to secure a room with points and 10 euro a night.

More on Day 2.
