The Tower is leaning

Today was a day of exploring and a day of remembrance. We drove to Pisa and found the Leaning Tower, Many tourist walked to the top of the tower, where Galileo once walked. Cathy did not. Ricky was driving, I was navigating. We went around in circles several times due my not trusting the GPS. It was finally worked out when I started believing in the GPS. On our way back to Siena, we got off the beaten path and went by the Florence American Cemetery from WWII. It was an emotional experience. While we were touring the cemetery, Taps was played. They play it every day at 4:45. The cemetery was well kept and very nice. There were two bus loads of Americans there also. I suspect many of them were WWII vets.
We met a very nice couple from Boston. They are staying in the villa next to us. We saw them at dinner last night and had a great time. They invited us over to their place this evening for wine and cheese in their private garden. Afterwards we will adjourn to our tower patio for more wine. Speaking of last night...we had Steak Florentina". To die for. When I get home I will try to duplicate on the green egg.
Speaking of our friends from Boston, he was a Podiatrist. Cathy hurt her toe after we got to Italy. The conversation went in that direction. The Doctor told her to take two aspirins and call his office for an appointment in 2 weeks.
