War & Music 06-30-2012

Battle of Britian
A long day, an interesting day.  We toured the Cabinet War Rooms.  When the war ended, they walked out, locked the doors, and for the most part never returned until 1970.  A time capsule.

Afterwards, we toured Chinatown, had lunch and went to Trafalger Square.  We saw a fantastic show at the Playhouse Theater.  A musical featuring the music of Roy Orbison and Buddy Holley.  I would go see it again.  Afterwards, a long walk along the Thames River back to our hotel. We had a very nice walk with sunny weather in the mid 70's. Lots of people were out in the pubs, restaurants, watching street entertainers, and just walking. Our ride home has been posted on the departure board at Mildenhall RAF Base.  With a little luck, we shall be headed home on Tuesday.  But today will be Harrods, the Hatfield House and a laundromat.
