Normandy, Day 7, 30 April 2012
Today was another day of sightseeing. We returned to the Omaha Cemetery. The weather was so bad yesterday, we did not get to finish. After we left Omaha Beach, we then drove along the coast, past Juno and Sword to Aramanche. This was the location of the Mulberry Piers. (An artificial harbor built to bring supplies ashore) Afterwards we went to Caen to visit the memorial there, then to Bayeux to view the Tapestry. Immersed in history. I do wish I had paid more attention to my teachers in school.
Did I mention our vehicle was small? When traveling with our suitcases, Harry and I sat in the front, with Mickey, Dorothy, Amanda and Linda in the back. With out the luggage, Mickey rode all the way in the back.
