Day 7 Rest and Recovery 07/17/2010

We did not stay at the hotel pictured. It is a very nice place in Banff. Today was a day of relaxation and recovery. We have travelled 2800 miles and have 2000 miles left to Fairbanks. That part starts tomorrow. Once again, the pictures don't do this place justice. How many scenery shots can you keep making. We left Banff this morning and drove to Lake Louise. When we got there, we took a ski lift to the top of a mountain. Spectacular views of the Rockies. After going back down we drove around to a couple of glacier fed lakes. We stopped a Lake Morain for a lunch at a park table. A young couple from England (newly weds) needed a place to eat, so I invited them to join us. They were here on their honeymoon. They had flown from England to Vancouver, drove to Banff and were leaving for the Canadian Glacier national park. After that, a train ride back to Vancouver, then fly to England. Linda and I drove to Camden, Al for our wedding trip. I can't think of any thing else to say.

Weather was great today, supposed to rain tomorrow. We will leave here tomorrow and drive the ice field parkway to Jasper. We will stop for the night at Prince George, BC.

Good night, I'll be back in touch tomorrow. Jerry

P.S. Cell phone service sporadic, text works OK. Satellite radio works. So I can keep up with the SEC through the Finebaum show. (much to Linda's dismay)
